Hal Dunning
Chair, CFO Roundtable & Day for Change
Hal has been a member of the CFO Roundtable since 1998 and was one of the founding Board members of Day for Change in 2000. He became chair of the Day for Change in 2001.
Hal is the President and COO of Marsh & McLennan Agency’s (MMA) West region. He joined its predecessor company, Barney & Barney as CFO in 2001. Prior to joining MMA, Hal served 16 years in finance and operational positions with ADS Environmental Services and Anthony Industries, Inc. He started his career in public accounting with Ernst & Whinney. He also serves on the board of the San Diego Foundation and is a member of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. Hal earned a BA from Pomona College and an MBA in accounting and taxation from the University of Southern California.

Mark A. Fisher
Board Member
Mark A. Fisher has been a member of the Day for Change Board of Directors since 2019. Mr. Fisher is the Diocese and Non-Profit Channel Manager for TRITEC Americas, which is a leading provider of solar energy project financing and development services for the commercial and industrial solar market. In his current position, he is responsible for planning, executing and evaluating both channel and project level commercial solar opportunities for TRITEC Americas. Previously Mr. Fisher was Chief Financial Officer for the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego, which encompasses all of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Prior to the Roman Catholic Diocese, he served as VP and Controller for Sempra Global, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, which is a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company, whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. Mr. Fisher has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA from San Diego State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Carolynn Winship
Board Member
Carloynn Winship has been a member of the Day For Change Board of Directors since 2019. Carolynn is a strategic and financial management leader with Thompson Interim Services. Carolynn has extensive financial, operational, and strategic management experience in both start-ups, growing, and well-established organizations. Her business area of expertise includes biotech, manufacturing, distribution, software development, data management, health care, travel staffing, and Big 4 public accounting. During the last five years she has served on USE’s Supervisory Committee. She is an active member of the San Diego Chapter of Financial Executives International where she served as President from 2017 - 2020. Carolynn earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University-California State University, where she majored in accounting.

Robert Hoffman
Board Member
Robert Hoffman has been a member of Day For Change board of directors since 2002. Mr. Hoffman has more than 20 years of experience in financial management, primarily in the life sciences field. Mr. Hoffman is a member of the board of directors of Kura Oncology, Inc., Kintara Therapeutics, Inc. and ASLAN Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He also is a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s Small Business Advisory Committee and is a member of the steering committee of the Association of Bioscience Financial Officers. Mr. Hoffman received his B.B.A. from St. Bonaventure University and is licensed as a C.P.A. (inactive) in the State of California.

Edward Knowles
Board Member
Ed is one of the original Day for Change Board members and has fully supported this organization and the CFO Roundtable for over 25 years. Ed retired from LMI Aerospace in 2013. His last 20 years in industry were as a CFO. He retired from the Navy as a Captain in 1996. Ed is also on the Miramar College Business Department Advisory Committee.

Melinda Alongi
Board Member
Melinda Alongi has been a member of the Day For Change Board of Directors since 2019. Melinda has more than 20 years of Corporate Finance and Strategy experience and has held leadership roles in a variety of companies across a broad range of industries. Melinda is also a mentor and on the Board of Advisors for Envision Lead Grow, a non-profit organization whose mission is to break the cycle of poverty by teaching entrepreneurship to middle school girls in underserved areas in the U.S. Melinda earned her BS in Finance from Santa Clara University and her MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA.

Mickey Lorber
Board Member
Mickey Lorber has been a member of the Day For Change Board of Directors since 2015. Mickey has over 35 years of diversified business, financial management and public accounting experience, Mickey currently is an Audit and Assurances Services Partner with Squar Milner LLP, where he serves as engagement or concurring partner on a wide variety of public company and private sector audit clients. In addition, Mickey leads the Firm’s Employee Benefit Plan audit practice group, where he serves as engagement partner for a number of 401k Plan audits, or other Employee Benefit Plans with audit requirements from the Department of Labor.
In addition to serving on the Day For Change Board of Directors, Mickey serves on the Audit Committee for the San Diego Humane Society. Mickey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Brian Nowlin
Board Member
Brian Nowlin has been a member of the Day For Change Board of Directors since 2020. Brian has more than 20 years of Product Management, Development, Marketing, and Strategy experience and has held a variety of leadership positions across Information and Biotechnology companies. Brian has also been active in promoting economic empowerment and stable communities for families by serving with Habitat for Humanity. Brian holds a B.A. degree in History from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Baylor University.
